John Nicolas Weaver Obituary

John Nicholas Weaver Sr. (87) departed this world to be with his heavenly Father on November 14, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Dayton Ohio December 6th 1926. Pre-ceded in death by his parents Edward and Clara Weaver, Brother Edward (Cecily) Weaver, Sisters Helen (Bud) Eckley, Mildred Weaver and Ruth (Harold) Johnstone, Brothers-In-Law Thomas (Joe) and John Roddy Sisters-In-Laws Margie, Faith, Cecily. Survived by the love of his life Magdalen (nee Roddy) Weaver to whom he was married for 67 years. John and Magdalene have 10 children, John Nicholas (Debbie) Weaver Jr., Terri (Mike) Lauer, Philip Weaver, Judith (James) Stefan, James (Linda) Weaver, Marian (nee Weaver) Curran, Rose (nee Weaver) Edmonson, Christine (David) Boyer, Francis (April) Weaver, Madonna (Rich) Weese. They also have 30 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren and two Great-Great Grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews of the Johnstone, Weaver and Roddy Families. . He retired from the Dayton Fire Department after 28 1/2 years. When he retired a second time after 10 years as a Security Guard at St. Elizabeth Hospital, he and his wife moved for a short period of time to Cadiz Kentucky. He was a World War II Navy Veteran and member of the Eagles and American Legion. As an avid outdoorsman he loved to hunt, fish and was an expert wild mushroom hunter. He authored a book on raising wax worms in an enclosed environment. He was owner and proprietor of Picks Studio on Wayne Ave, and Weaver’s Carpet Cleaning Co. As a faithful Catholic he was a member of Holy Angels Church for most of his life. Moving to Miamisburg he was a member of Incarnation Church in Centerville where he was a Eucharistic Minister. Member of the Knights of Columbus Council 500, St Vincent DePaul Society and administered the Eucharist at St. Leonard’s of Centerville. John will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Marianist Mission P.O. Box 340998, Dayton, OH 45434-0998. Family will receive friends Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 9:30 AM until time of services at 10:30 AM at The Church of The Incarnation with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
