<p>Herman Combs, age 91, of Bronston, KY., passed away on Wednesday January 14, 2015. He was born on March 10, 1923 in Cordia, KY., to the late Allen “Tad” and Mary Martin Combs. Herman was a Sergeant in the Army and landed on Omaha Beach, Normandy – D Day in WWII, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He also was awarded an American Theater Ribbon, World War II Victory Medal European, and African Middle Eastern Ribbon with 5 Bronze Stars. He was preceded in death by his parents; Allen and Mary Combs, two sisters; Bessie and Ruth, and ten brothers; Roscoe, Marcus, Amos, Woodrow, Lawrence, Dennis, Wayne, Thornton, Allen (Pete), and Clarence. He is survived by his wife; Virginia Calhoun Combs, one son Bill (Jackie) Combs, two daughters; Brenda (Johnnie) Brown, and Nancy (Rick) Feeback, eight grandchildren; Sydney, Brian, Ansley, Jessica, Lindsay, Alaina, Holly and Jacob, eleven great-grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 5pm to 9pm on Tuesday January 20, 2015 with services at 11am on Wednesday January 21, 2015 at Schlientz &amp; Moore Funeral Home, 1632 Wayne Ave., Dayton, OH with Bro. Jeff Combs and Bro. Mark Combs officiating. Burial to follow at Woodland Cemetery. </p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
